Carole King’s 1971 album Tapestry is an unparalleled masterpiece of American songwriting. It was tough to pick a single song to represent the album. I narrowed it down to I Feel the Earth Move, It’s Too Late, Beautiful, You’ve Got a Friend, Where You Lead, or Will You Love Me Tomorrow?, which is to say that I hadn’t narrowed it down at all.
In the end, I had to go with So Far Away, only because I find myself humming the tune every time I’m on a trip away from home.
But honestly, you can’t go wrong with Carole King.
As you said, “you can’t go wrong with Carole King”. You’re right, this is a great album, just a classic, and the song So Far Away, is a song to “get lost in”. Excellent choice from the album.
For some reason I have never been a fan of Carole King. I admire her artistry and she is obviously a classic, but I could never get on the Carole King train! 🙂
