Savvy Readers of the Ultimate Playlist will remember that Jonathan Jackson’s version of Unchained Melody already made the list as #340. But the truth is, I just couldn’t have Sexy Soundtrack Week without the opening scene from Ghost, where I first heard this song from The Righteous Brothers. If you don’t already agree, watch the below and you will.
I am loving this week’s concept, and I just ADORE this song, this scene, this movie!!! This is scene is one of my all time favorite movie scenes ever. First of all you have one of my most favorite songs, UNCHAINED MELODY, then you have a shirtless Patrick Swayze, which is delicious eye candy, Demi Moore at her best, put all of these elements together and you create the magic of the movies. This movie is so touching, I have seen it so many times and NEVER get tired of watching it. The pottery scene is one of the most sensual scenes in movie history, in my opinion, my god, a shirtless Patrick Swayze how could it not be? But watching the video, the most heart touching moment is when Sam walks toward that beautiful light while Molly watches the love of her life walk toward heaven. GHOST is a movie that once you watch it, it will occupy a place in your heart forever, at least it does for me. The music is a large part of that reason. Now getting back to Jonathan Jackson’s version, I do give him a lot of credit, his version is just stellar. But, and their is always a “but”, nothing can top GHOST, and The Righteous Brother’s version. Outstanding selection Egg….can you see that I can go and on?
One of my favorite songs of all time and favorite movies of all time! I think I saw this movie for my 16th birthday and followed it up by dinner at Hoss’s!
great song …great movie
