Ooooh, I really like this song. And I agree with you that Toby’s earlier work was so good, that was when Toby really sang from his gut instead of morphing into trying to be the biggest hard-ass in country music. His early work was stellar! This song is very pretty and poignant, showcasing how the young Millennial thinking she knows it all, leaves home to try to fulfill her naive dreams, moves to the city, thinking how cool life is. Then it happens, like the line in the song, “the wolf comes knocking at her door”, reality slaps her in the face. I love the part where she realizes that home is the best place to be. Toby should go back to singing songs like these, he excels on them. Great selection Egg.
