If you’ve followed this blog even a little, you know how I love Mary Chapin Carpenter. I’ve already sprinkled half a dozen of my favorite MCC songs throughout this list. But I haven’t scratched the surface of her brilliance.
For this week, I’m featuring seven of the best from my favorite troubadour. And this is in no way a promise not to feature additional MCC songs later. Narrowing this list to seven was brutal. MCC has a way of describing life and life in a way that slips under my skin.

I really like this song. I think only the people who truly love solitude will really appreciate the brilliance of this song. I love the line ” I like the sound of silence coming on”.
She would do well with social distancing. Good song but not my favorite MCC
