I know there’s an older version by Jeannie C. Riley, but the first time I ever heard it was this remake by Billy Ray Cyrus. I wish I could see the faces of the Harper Valley P.T.A. when Mrs. Johnson set those hypocrites straight.

This is an oldie, but definitely a goodie. Always have liked this song. I have only heard the original version by Jeanne C. Riley, which her version is in my opinion an all time classic. Billy Ray Cyrus did a great job singing this song from a male’s point of view. No one likes a hypocrite, and I have always enjoyed the image in my mind of Momma strutting into the school to tell all those hypocrites off. Everyone should have that kind of moment in their own life at least once…lol Yes, I do love when “my momma socked it to the Harper Valley PTA”.
