In less than 2 weeks I’ll be kicking off my Spring Lecture Series at the Plum Library with a talk on Nicole Kidman, one Hollywood’s true treasures. A character actress with a movie star profile, Nicole has thrilled and surprised American audiences since her unforgettable turn in 1989’s Dead Calm and seemingly has no plans to slow down.

We’ll cover it all — from her early marriage to and bitter divorce from superstar Tom Cruise, to the roles that made us fall in love, and the roles that made us scratch our heads. And her unforgettable character of Celeste Wright, the anchor of the hit television series Big Little Lies. And we’ll of course take a moment to speculate on her split from Aussie superstar–and apparent soulmate –Keith Urban.

I’ll be covering the life and films of Alfred Hitchcock in April.

And in June, I’ll be covering the tumultuous romance of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. ***Please not that this date has changed from the original schedule.

Hope to see you there!
